Under the revised Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY), the target of government is complete the construction of 51 lakh houses by 2018 which would help in meeting the overall target of one completing one crore houses by 2019. The government is also making efforts to reduce the building time from 3 years to 6-12 months.
As per the reports, more than 32 lakh houses have been completed in Fiscal Year 2017 while 18 lakh were completed in Fiscal Year 2016. PMAY was launched in 2016 and it replaced the Indira Awaas Yojana.
Rs.15000 crore was issued in the budget for PMAY and the issuance double for every household to Rs.120000 from Rs.75000 while the area also increased to 22 square meters from 22 square meters.
The government is focusing making the construction fast-paced and also making sure that the amount of money that is issued is not being diverted to other uses.
Geo-referencing of every unit will be done at different levels apart from mentioning date and time on the photographs. This action will make the construction faster and smoother.
