Nine major chemical industries, rapid urbanization and increasing population – Noida certainly is the point where quick action is required in case of any disaster. Keeping the same in view, Noida authority has finally reserved 2-acre land in Noida’s sector 153 where National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) base camp can be set.
According to the current situations, the Gautam Budh Nagar district awaits the response from NDRF battalion that has its headquarter in Ghaziabad. While 30 other NDRF personnel are appointed at Dwarka for the same but the distances of both to Noida are not short enough to reach the spot in time. Time taken from either Ghaziabad or Dwarka to reach Noida is good enough for the disaster to damage the lives of lakhs.
Together with NBRF and MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs), Noida Authority approved the proposal for base camp for disaster response in Noida in September 2016.
Approval for the land allotment has already been received nevertheless, the construction work will begin post to Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Ministry of Home Affairs and NDRF together took up the proposal for the land allotment for disaster response in Noida.
The personnel who will be appointed for the new base camp in Noida will undergo training for CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence) situations.
Designing of the base camp is in the process and hopefully, it will get in to operation within a year.
